Chilmark Board of Health Minutes
March 16, 2005
Attendees: Mike Renahan, Katie Carroll, Matthew Poole, Sylvia Yeomans, Reid Silva, Peter Wells, Chris Alley
Irving Gates (25-88) – Reid Silva discussed drilling a new well on this property that requires a reduction in separation between well and property line. In order to maintain a 150 foot separation between well and leaching area, the setback from well to property line must be reduced from 30 feet to 13 feet. The Board reviewed the site drawing and told Reid they have no objection to the reduction in setback to property line.
Eleanor Pearlson (3-53) – The Board approved this well permit application.
Aileen & David McGlade (30-55) – The Board approved this disposal works application with the following condition; Sylvia will review the floor plan and confirm it does not exceed six (6) bedrooms.
Ronald Dworkin (17-33) – The Board reviewed several different designs for this septic system. Katie made a motion to approve Plan #6 (dated March 16, 2005) for a six (6) bedroom disposal works system. Matt seconded the motion and the Board voted unanimously to approve this septic design. The Board voted to approve this system due to the significant improvement to the existing conditions.
Robin Shanus (27-3) – The Board approved this well permit application. John Clarke will send a new application. The Board asked Sylvia to issue the permit after the new application is received and the engineer has staked it.
Sea The World Productions (Film Festival) – Jan Burman is hired to cater the film festival. We do not have a caterer’s report and understand from the Edgartown Health Agent that the Food Establishment Permit is not current. Sylvia will call Jan Burman in the morning and explain to her that we need a copy of her current food permit before authorizing food at this event.

Various invoices were submitted for approval.
